Happy 2nd Anniversary PerformanceMarketingJOBS – Here’s one letter that will bring so much satisfaction!

Have you ever worked away at something and thought to yourself – I’m almost there…and I’ll be so satisfied when I reach my goal? You might even treat myself to something to celebrate the occasion when the goal is reached….BUT just before you get there – for fun – you decide that you’ll just move the goal posts further back to keep the game entertaining!

Well the past two years have been like that for me since I launched PerformanceMarketingJOBS at Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas. There’s an old saying that the more success you have, the more you want. For competitive people, for every league title there is a playoff Cup, for every Cup, there is the need to repeat as Champions, for every repeat, there is a dynasty to be built. The cycle is never complete. Especially if you are passionate about what you do and you don’t see it as work. That freedom allows you to keep adding on phrases to this interesting poem about success:

He worked by day and and toiled by night.
He gave up play and some delight.
Dry books he read, new things to learn.
And forged ahead, success to earn.
He plodded on with Faith and pluck;
And when he won, they called it luck.

Maybe here’s a few extra phrases to keep it going.

We’ll smile at the comment
and appreciate the praise,
but success is fleeting and
a goal is a just a phrase.
Instead we’ll focus on a mission
that is simple to see.
If you concentrate on helping others
your mind will be free.

OK Robbie Burns has nothing to fear. It’s just a little fun to highlight that hustle is always needed and so is caring about your customers and evolution of services.

Just like how flogs and farticles turned into Native Advertising and simple Run of network buys turned into RealTimeBidding and Mobile advertising has turned into m-commerce, our business evolved to suit our customers needs.

When I first launched my company it was all about You’ll Never Walk Alone, as my company name was inspired by that famous song (…at the end of the storm there is a Golden Sky). That led me to wear my Glasgow Celtic kits to ASW including the traffic stopping bubblebee shirt shown here. Wearing the Celtic hoops is always fun until an industry friend panda– Morgan “DoyouknowwhoIam” Thomas encouraged people to play Find Waldo with the pictures. See how long it takes you to find me.

Ok, back to my story – the original Online acquisition focused Marketing services that my company offered evolved into the creation of Why? because. No seriously, it was because I was constantly being asked if I “knew someone” that could fill an open role in our space. With first hand experience with the roles at leading affiliate networks and my previous experience on the recruitment side, I saw it as a great personal fit and service offering. Trying to get someone to buy an XBox is miles easier then trying to get someone to potentially uproot their life, to leave established relationships and to possibly move for a new position. Trying to acquire Talent is the greatest – and hardest – marketing job on the planet and typically it’s the highest priority in every company.

Reality hit home of that fact when PerformanceMarketingJOBS was launched at Affiliate Summit West 2013 because the reaction was “finally”. Many viewed it as a centralized place where Candidates and Employers could meet and where the finer details of their career advancement opportunities would be displayed. Before that, most recruitment in the Performance space happened via friends passing on an opening or Hiring Managers/Company/Network owners mentioning on Facebook that they were looking to expand their team and that they needed to hire an Affiliate Manager or a Business Development person.

Since then, our industry has exploded in size and in professionalism. It’s still a very intimate community but the needs of the Employers and candidates has changed due to the higher stakes in play. No longer will Employers “take a flyer and hire” an unproven candidate and the same goes for experienced candidates. Now, candidates want a lot more information than a job posting or a Facebook post mention can provide. They want to know the inner workings of companies so that they can align themselves with companies that are very successful, have solid management structures, have a unique value proposition, competitive pay, internal advancement opportunities plus work flexibility (remote/work from home). This is why our contingency based recruitment services took off with Employers and why quality candidates do confidential career searches via contacting PerformanceMarketingJOBS. Simple Job board in 2013, now evolution kicked in and we’re more behind the velvet rope Employer-Candidate match making. For both parties, we do the hard lifting and they focus on day-to-day responsibilities.

That brings me to that one letter that brings me so much satisfaction our the 2nd anniversary. The letter R… in Registered Trademark.Performance Marketing Jobs registered Trademark As PerformanceMarketingJOBS has grown and evolved to a results proven contingency based recruitment network, so has our potential competitors’ actions evolved in their efforts to try to duplicate our success.

Just as Shawn Collins and Missy Ward of Affiliate Summit fame have been playing whack-a-mole with countless companies misrepresenting themselves as being Affiliate Summit or affiliated with Affiliate Summit in some fashion to gain business (and receiving Cease and desist letters for their efforts) so has PerformanceMarketingJOBS. That is why we have very happy to now have the letter R (and Trademark Registration) associated with Performance Marketing Jobs:

We’re ready for even more growth in 2015 and the C&D letters are being created as we speak. I look forward to crossing paths with many of you at Affiliate Summit West and maybe we’ll find a bit of time for celebration before it’s back to the grind and foot on the gas.
